Meyer says team has right attitude

COLUMBUS — At this stage, all Urban Meyer has is his green marker and a good feeling. The Ohio State coach called this month the most critical of his career for its timing. The Buckeyes’ task during training camp was to turn the youngest roster in the country into a title contender in a month’s worth of practices. Ohio State is confident it has the top-level talent it needs, but the question for these Buckeyes always was whether they have the depth to win big right away. Meyer’s green marker might tell the tale. The fifth-year OSU coach has a checklist of players he uses to determine the shape of the team. If a player practices enough, a horizontal line goes next to his name. If he practices well enough, he earns a perpendicular line.
