ShareTweetInside of Room 17 on the second floor of Gould Hall off Asp Avenue on the Oklahoma University Norman campus sat a surly Austin Kendall. His roommate had not returned from the day before – off elsewhere while the heat died down. Austin had made a statement earlier in the week calling The Ohio State University’s defense was “Basic” and that Baker Mayfield would light them up. It turned out to be enough for the Buckeyes Defensive unit (needless to mention the offensive unit) to use it as a springboard to come to Norman with an edge – ready to play. He stood from the couch that he had slept on after arriving at his dorm room early morning following the game in which the Buckeyes dominated the Sooners 45-24; and Baker Mayfield, hardly lit up the Buckeyes “Basic” Defense. He made his way to the small kitchen counter and began to prepare a pot of coffee. He just couldn’t get it out of his head. How could he be so ‘silly’ to say what he did?
