College football predictions: OU over TCU, Texas over OSU

(Photo by Sarah Phipps) Despite the disastrous starts for our local teams – OU 1-2, OSU 2-2 – this has been one heck of a college football season. We had opening weekend, with a bunch of showdown-status games. Then in Week 3, we had history – the first time the top three teams in the AP poll all were on the road against fellow ranked teams. Now in Week 5, maybe the best series of games yet. Three matchups of top-10 teams. Third-ranked Louisville at No. 5 Clemson. Eighth-ranked Wisconsin at No. 4 Michigan. Seventh-ranked Stanford at No. 10 Washington. Another great weekend – Stanford-UW is Friday night – of football. And heck, a great weekend in our state, too, as long as your standards aren’t too high. OU at TCU; Texas at OSU. Both will help sort out the Big 12 race. Let’s get to the predictions: Oklahoma at TCU: Sooners 31-27. The four OU-Frog games since TCU joined the league have been determined by a combined 15 points.
