Buckeye Football Notebook: ‘He’s really impressive even now as a young, green guy’ COLUMBUS — Plenty has already been made of the passing game struggles by the Buckeyes on Saturday against the Indiana Hoosiers. Quarterback J.T. Barrett completed just 9-of-21 passes with a touchdown and an interception. That performance netted Barrett his worst passer rating in a start (86.3) since the Virginia Tech game in 2014 (85.2). Speaking with the media on Monday, he explained some of what went wrong. “I think on offense in particular, there were times where we did have everybody on the same page and that’s when we had the more successful plays of course,” Barrett said. “But then we were in some good plays a lot of times and whether it be me messing up on an assignment or the receiver messing up or the O-line messing up, so we just weren’t clicking on all cylinders and all units on offense at times and think that’s often times what was the problem.” It wasn’t just the the Buckeyes’ fault, however.
