Trio of Penn State linebackers might return in time for Ohio State

With No. 2 Ohio State coming to Beaver Stadium Saturday night, Penn State will need all the firepower it can muster to take down the undefeated Buckeyes. And a few key players might make their return in time for the matchup. Penn State coach James Franklin said at his Tuesday news conference “there’s a chance” of seeing linebackers junior Jason Cabinda, senior Brandon Bell and sophomore Jake Cooper back in action this weekend. “Now, we all have to just kind of remember, too, [Cabinda] hasn’t played football or practiced in a long time,” Franklin said. “So to think you’re just going to jump back in there after missing that amount of time, is going to be a challenge. Same thing with Brandon Bell. So we’ll see. And same thing with Cooper. There’s a chance we could get those guys back, but we’ll see. We’ll see how it plays out.” Cabinda hasn’t played since the season opener, and Bell lasted two games into the season before he was injured. They were supposed to be the starters at middle linebacker and strongside linebacker.
