Staff Predictions: Ohio State at Penn State

James Grega The last time Ohio State took a trip to Penn State, it almost cost the Buckeyes a shot at the College Football Playoff. However, that game helped propel OSU forward and started an impressive string of games as the Buckeyes won the national title. Could that happen again? Penn State has struggled to find itself at times this season. At 4-2, 2-1 on the year, its best win came two weeks ago in a 38-14 victory over Maryland. Offensively, the Nittany Lions are led by star running back Saquon Barkley, who had a coming-out party of sorts against the Buckeyes last season. In a 38-10 Ohio State victory, Barkley torched the Buckeye defense to the tune of 194 yards on 26 carries. So far this season, Barkley is tied for first in the Big Ten in rushing touchdowns with eight and is averaging just under 100 yards per game. After allowing big yards to Corey Clement a week ago, I would not be surprised to see the OSU defense let Barkley slip free a time or two.
