Corey Smith is set to make his return to the Buckeyes’ wide receiver rotation following wrist surgery. That could be a big boost to the offense giving Ohio State a downfield threat. Urban Meyer said as much when asked what the return of the senior would mean to Ohio State. One of the contributions the head coach mentioned was that Smith would be a deep threat. The other was concerning his value on special teams. I for one would like to see Smith watch the special teams from the sidelines. He has been injured for most of the last year and a half and could get injured covering a kick. It’s easier to replace him with a young player on special teams than finding a guy who can help in the North-South passing game which has been almost nonexistent as of late.
