Two years ago, the inevitable happened.Cincinnati Colerain has one of the premier football programs in the state. Ohio State assistant coach Kerry Coombs was the longtime Cardinals coach. But since Urban Meyer and then Coombs arrived at Ohio State five years ago, no Colerain player has become a Buckeye. Amir Riep is going to change that. The four-star cornerback is part of Ohio State’s 2017 recruiting class. “He wasn’t going to go under the radar,” said Colerain coach Tom Bolden, who succeeded Coombs. “I remember telling Kerry when Amir was a sophomore, ‘Hey, I’ve got one that’s going to be really special.’ ” Riep certainly could be. At 6 feet and close to 190 pounds, Riep has the lanky-but-sturdy frame the Buckeyes covet in their cornerbacks. “With what they’re looking for, he’s a very good fit,” Bucknuts recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic said. “They’re looking for taller, bigger corners.” Quiet off the field, Riep’s personality changes on it, Bolden said. “He plays with a lot of bravado,” he said. “Not cocky, but very, very sure of himself. He’s going to fly around and make plays and show you how excited he is.” Colerain’s program, like Ohio State’s, is based on toughness.…
