Ohio State Buckeyes refuse to play blame game

Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes expecting to see Urban Meyer tear up the depth chart after a 24-21 loss at Penn State on Saturday were disappointed Tuesday. Meyer didn’t make any changes when the new two-deep for a 3:30 p.m. game Saturday against Northwestern at Ohio Stadium was released. A day earlier, Meyer said he didn’t foresee any changes, and he stuck to his word. If the Buckeyes were going to shake things up, they would have done so on the offensive line. Ohio State allowed six sacks, and right tackle Isaiah Prince struggled more than anyone. According to the College Football Film Room, a website devoted to advanced football stats, Prince allowed 14 quarterback pressures. That’s more than the whole team had allowed in a single game all season. Asked about the redshirt freshman Prince this week, the players and coaches spread the blame around the lineup. “Everybody needs to get better,” offensive line coach Ed Warinner said. “Isaiah’s working on the things he needs to get better at.
