Browning verbally commits to Buckeyes

COLUMBUS — One of the top high school linebackers in the country is on track to leave his home state and play for Ohio State. Baron Browning — projected to be one of the class of 2017’s gems — announced on his Twitter page Thursday night he has verbally committed to the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-2 outside linebacker from Kennedale (Texas) High School chose Ohio State over Alabama. In his announcement, Browning tweeted “when it all came down to it [sic] I truly felt this was the place for me to grow as a person, athlete, & student. #GoBucks.” According to 247Sports’ composite recruiting rankings, Browning is the ninth-rated player in the country and the second-best linebacker. He became the highest-rated player in Ohio State’s projected 2017 class, which currently is ranked second to the Crimson Tide.
