(Jay LaPrete, Associated Press) COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett could be adding some new hardware to his collection. Well, technically he’d be sharing it. Barrett and Buckeyes H-back Curtis Samuel were announced as two of four finalists on Friday for the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, given each year to the Big Ten’s best player. The other two finalists are Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and Michigan linebacker Jabrill Peppers. The award is voted on by Big Ten coaches, who submit first-place and second-place votes but can’t vote for their own players. This year’s voting was so close that it ended in a tie. Nine players received votes, but 13 of the first-place votes went to Barrett, Samuel, Barkley or Peppers. The…
