How Good is Ohio State's Recruiting Right Now? Let's Count the Ways


COLUMBUS — The 2017 recruiting class got off to rousing start back on January 12, 2015 when 5-star Jacksonville cornerback Shaun Wade committed to Ohio State. That also happened to be the same night that everyone in America watched Ezekiel Elliott run for 246 yards on the Oregon defense, en route to the Buckeyes winning the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship. Wade’s commitment was a sign of things to come for the 2017 class, which now sits at 16 prospects. While the national title certainly helped OSU’s recruiting, the 2016 NFL Draft likely put things into overdrive as recruits from around the nation saw 10 Buckeyes selected in the first 100 picks, and five of the first 20.
