Ohio State sticks with same 2014 approach

COLUMBUS — On its return trip to the College Football Playoff, Ohio State wants to replicate its first experience, down to the smallest detail. The Buckeyes see little reason to change a formula that worked just fine in 2014. Before the third-ranked Buckeyes’ Dec. 31 date with No. 2 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said the team planned to practice “exactly the way we did it in ’14.” December has more moving parts than any other month of the college football season, and the Buckeyes navigated the course so well in 2014 — they won the national title the next month — that Meyer wanted to keep everything the same this time around.
