COLUMBUS, Ohio — It was this time a year ago that Pat Elflein made a life-altering decision. In his heart, the Ohio State center knew he was returning to school for his senior season. But the allure of the NFL was inviting. And so were the millions of dollars that would come with declaring early for this past spring’s draft. Even if he already knew which way he was leaning, Elflein had to make a choice — all while preparing for a Fiesta Bowl matchup with Notre Dame. “It wasn’t too stressful,” Elflein insists. “But it was a decision that had to be made.
