Like the rest of the country, Mike Weber was mesmerized by Ezekiel Elliott’s performance during Ohio State’s postseason two years ago.After a solid but mostly unspectacular regular season in 2014, Elliott had a three-game run for the ages to help the Buckeyes win the first College Football Playoff national championship. Elliott ran for 220, 230 and 246 yards, averaging 9.2 yards per carry in victories over Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon. Weber watched it and was inspired by Elliott. The Detroit running back committed to Ohio State during the Buckeyes’ postseason run. “It influenced me to come here — how well he was running and how well the line was blocking,” Weber said. “He was breaking so many tackles and scoring touchdowns.
