Ohio State loses another top defender for 2017 to the NFL Draft

Ohio State lost one of its top defenders earlier this week when Malik Hooker declared for the NFL Draft. The departure is a loss for the team’s pass defense, which graded out as one of the best in college football. That announcement has been followed by a similar one from Buckeyes linebacker Raekwon McMillan, which is a loss for the team’s run defense for next season. On Wednesday, McMillan took to Twitter to declare for the upcoming draft. McMillan led the Buckeyes in tackles this past season and was a second-team All-American selection along with an All-Big Ten selection. The junior was the top-rated recruit in Ohio State’s 2014 recruiting class, per 247Sports. McMillan is considered one of the top linebackers in the draft pool.
