The slogan for Ohio State in times of personnel challenges over the first five seasons under coach Urban Meyer has been “Next man up,” but the defensive backfield probably should amend that to “Next three men up.”Cornerback Marshon Lattimore announced Wednesday that he will forgo his last two years of eligibility and apply for the NFL draft. He joined safety Malik Hooker and cornerback Gareon Conley with early exits, which means for the second year in a row, the Buckeyes will have to replace three contributors in the defensive backfield. Safeties Vonn Bell and Tyvis Powell, and cornerback Eli Apple were part of an Ohio State-record nine players with eligibility remaining who made the move a year ago.
