Top 20 most important Buckeyes: No. 20 Tyler Durbin


The college football season has come to a close. As part of our year-end review of Ohio State’s 2016 season, we will be counting down the 20 most important contributors to the Buckeyes this year. We will release one per day until we reach the top spot. Tyler Durbin Durbin had a unique situation for a college football player on a College Football Playoff team. He played two years of soccer at James Madison University before electing to transfer schools. Durbin wound up at Ohio State in order to pursue a civil engineering degree and elected to walk on to the Buckeyes before the 2015 season despite never having played competitive football. Although Urban Meyer claims he did not know the kicker’s name before the start of the year, the OSU head coach learned it quickly as Durbin impressed throughout the 2016 season.
