J.T. Barrett: Ohio State needed offensive changes, excited for 'What we could be in the future'

COLUMBUS, Ohio — J.T. Barrett raised his Big Ten Silver Football trophy over his head, and acknowledged all sides of the crowd in Value City Arena. Ohio State’s quarterback shared the award for the conference’s best player, which was presented to him at Sunday’s Buckeye basketball game, with Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. It was a reminder that for all of Ohio State’s offensive struggles this past season, Barrett was still pretty darn good. He’d also be the first to tell you that he wasn’t quite good enough, that the Buckeyes weren’t quite good enough — in case that needed repeating after beating shut out by Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl. So changes have been made. Barrett will be back for his fifth season in 2017.
