RECAP: Ohio State basketball fails to extend winning streak, falls to Northwestern 74-72


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Northwestern snapped Ohio State’s two-game winning streak with a 74-72 victory over the Buckeyes on Sunday. With the loss, Ohio State falls to 12-8 on the season with a 2-5 record in Big Ten play. In search of their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, the Wildcats now advance their record to 16-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play. How it happened The Buckeyes got off to a strong start, jumping out to a 23-17 lead on a JaQuan Lyle jumper with 8:18 remaining in the first half. A 19-5 Northwestern run, however, gave the Wildcats a 36-28 advantage in the final minute of the first half before a Lyle 3-pointer cut their lead to five heading into halftime.
