REPORT: Trey Holtz, grandson of long-time college coach Lou Holtz, to coach at Ohio State

As Ohio State football undergoes a few coaching changes for the 2017 season, one of the Buckeyes’ additions has coaching success in his blood. According to NBC Sports, Trey Holtz, who is the grandson of Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz, will begin his coaching career at Ohio State. Holtz, NBC Sports says, will most likely begin his coaching career as a graduate assistant or as a quality control assistant. Holtz posted a photo on Instagram on Jan. 21, making the “O” on the field of Ohio Stadium. The photo’s caption: “Super excited to start my coaching career in Columbus!! #GoBucks.” Holtz, whose real name is Louis Holtz III, was a quarterback at the University of Texas-Austin as a walk-on. Holtz never attempted a pass as a Longhorns quarterback; he served as the main holder for field goals and extra points in 23 games during his junior and senior seasons.
