Why J.T. Barrett is right: Ohio State’s offensive staff needed changes


COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Sunday, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett said what everyone has already known for the better part of the past month — if not longer. The changes that came to the Buckeyes’ offensive staff following their 31-0 loss to Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinal Fiesta Bowl last month were born out of necessity. “Yeah, I think it was. Just something new,” Barrett said of Ohio State adding Kevin Wilson as its offensive coordinator and Ryan Day as its new quarterbacks coach. “I think sometimes we get set in our ways but change is also a good thing.
