Grading Ohio State's 2016 Season: Quarterbacks

A year after Ohio State’s quarterbacks room was the talk of the college football world, J.T. Barrett moved into the unquestioned starting role with high expectations. After setting the world on fire against Bowling Green and throwing four touchdowns against Oklahoma, Barrett was in the early discussion for the Heisman Trophy. Through Ohio State’s first four games, Barrett totaled 17 total touchdowns to just four interceptions before a poor showing against Indiana (9-of-21, 93 yards) seemed to start a slow decline that Barrett and the Buckeyes struggled to recover from outside of a pair of 62-3 wins over Nebraska and Maryland.  After a loss to Penn State and a close win against Northwestern, Barrett dropped out of the Heisman race, and three straight less-than-stellar showings against the Spartans, Wolverines and Tigers brought him much blame for Ohio State’s shortcomings.
