Ohio State signed 21 players in its 2017 recruiting class, and 14 of them came from out of state. Many times landing the players isn’t the hard part, it’s keeping them committed. One of those players was 5-star Florida cornerback Shaun Wade, who committed to the Buckeyes in January of 2015, and actually stuck around for the next two years before finally enrolling. “Yeah, the in-state guys it’s not uncommon to be able to hang on to them, but a kid from Florida, especially where he’s from, I mean, that’s tough,” Urban Meyer said back on signing day. “It’s almost like when they commit to me, I put a 30 percent chance on if it’s actually going to happen.
