Ryan Day, new Ohio State assistant, on if his former quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, can still play

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ryan Day will coach J.T. Barrett this season. Last season, he coached Colin Kaepernick. Ohio State’s new quarterbacks coach came from the San Francisco 49ers, where he coached Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert a year ago. Actually, Day more specifically comes from Chip Kelly’s NFL career – he played quarterback at New Hampshire when Kelly was the offensive coordinator there.  Day then coached college football for 13 years before Kelly hired him to be the Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach in 2015. When Kelly was fired in Philadelphia and hired in San Francisco, he took Day with him. When Kelly was fired in San Francisco after one year, that was it for Day, who then landed with the Buckeyes.
