Boston College officially announces Ohio State’s Martin Jarmond as new athletic director

Martin Jarmond officially is leaving Columbus and heading to Chestnut Hill. After a few days of speculation, Boston College announced Thursday afternoon that Jarmond will take over as athletic director. Jarmond served as a deputy athletic director with the Buckeyes, and his most visible task was making the football team’s schedule. That duty will be reassigned. His duties with Ohio State included internal and external business and development operations for the athletic department. Jarmond was also the administrator for men’s basketball, baseball and golf, with involvement in football. Boston College, coincidentally enough, is one of Ohio State’s currently scheduled nonconference football opponents. The Buckeyes and Eagles are set to meet during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
