Ohio State's Martin Jarmond officially named new Boston College athletic director

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith is losing one of his top aides. Martin Jarmond, the university’s deputy director of athletics, has officially been named the new athletic director at Boston College one day after being reported as the front-runner for the position. “Martin is one of the best administrators I have ever worked with,” Smith said in a statement released by BC. “His leadership skills are exceptional. It has been a tremendous honor working with him and watching him develop into a premier athletic administrator. His contributions to The Ohio State University have been significant, and he will be missed.” Part of Jarmond’s duties included overseeing the Buckeyes’ football schedule.
