CLEVELAND, Ohio — Marland Lattimore got the call in August 2014, stopped working at his job site, and found a private place to cry. It wasn’t just that his son, Marshon, had been dealt a devastating injury just a few days into his college career at Ohio State. That’s tough for any player. It was that Marland knew exactly what Marshon was feeling, because he’d been there before. Marland was a standout quarterback at Lincoln West High School — the last quarterback to lead a Lincoln West team to a win over Cleveland public school powerhouse Glenville, where Marshon would later star.
