Sevyn Banks commits to Ohio State

Orlando Jones High cornerback Sevyn Banks committed to Ohio State’s 2018 football recruiting class Wednesday, surprising many who figured Banks would follow in his brother’s footsteps and eventually sign with Florida. Banks, the brother of Florida Gators safety Marcell Harris, picked the Buckeyes over numerous Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers and his popularity among college recruiters had blossomed lately despite missing his entire junior season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. Banks, a 6-foot-1, 186-pound corner who has length and sized enough to also play safety, fell in love with the Ohio State program and its coaches from the moment he was offers by Buckeyes coaches Tony Alford and Kerry Coombs.
