Gant selected the Buckeyes over offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State. Gant (6-3 225) is a 4-star prospect out of St. John’s High School in Toledo, Ohio. Named third-team All-State last season, he is ranked as the No. 5 outside linebacker prospect in the country, and is Ohio’s No. 4 overall prospect. He becomes Ohio State’s ninth commitment from inside the top 150 of the 247Sports Composite rankings (he is their #23 overall athlete in their own rankings), and they are poised to land a few more from that group as well.
