Ohio State recruits, coaches react to commitment of 4-star OLB Dallas Gant

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tuesday was another big day for Ohio State football, as the Buckeyes picked up a commitment from Toledo (Ohio) St. John’s Jesuit 4-star linebacker Dallas Gant. His pledge, which came on his birthday, made him the 10th member of Ohio State’s Class of 2018, which is now the highest-rated Big Ten class in the 247Sports composite team rankings. Gant is the No. 5 outside linebacker and No. 126 overall prospect in the Class of 2018. “It’s just the best place for me,” Gant said of Ohio State. “It’s at home; I’m not leaving the state. [Urban] Meyer is a great coach, and a great guy. I’ve developed a great relationship with [Buckeyes linebackers coach Billy] Davis, and there’s several other things about the people and [Columbus] in general.” As could be expected, his commitment was huge news around the Ohio State football program.
