Former Ohio State safety Malik Hooker inks rookie contract with Indianapolis Colts

Three weeks after being taken with the 15th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, safety Malik Hooker has signed his rookie contract with the team. Hooker was the second Ohio State defensive back taken in the first round of this year’s draft, with cornerback Marshon Lattimore being taken four spots earlier by the New Orleans Saints. The former Ohio State safety should provide an immediate impact on a Colts defense that was one of the worst in the NFL last year against the pass. Hooker still hasn’t been on the field for the Colts in preseason workouts since he is still recovering from shoulder surgery in January, but there is no denying what the safety can bring to a defense when fully healthy.
