Some built it up as college football’s game of the year. Three months before kickoff, we billed it as the Big 12’s game of the year. We were right. Ohio State took down the Sooners 45-24. And 10 weeks later, the College Football Playoff committee announced its four-team bracket. Ohio State in, despite not even winning the Big Ten. Oklahoma out, leaving the Big 12 as the lone Power 5 conference without a playoff representative for the second time in three years.
