Long before Matt Jones’ Saturday commitment to Ohio State, the Brooklyn Erasmus Hall standout was tied to the Buckeyes. His school already sent now-NFLer Curtis Samuel to the Buckeyes, and current defensive back Jahsen Wint in there. And although Jones held Penn State and Alabama in high regard as well, the 6-foot-4, 285-pound Jones was long considering an Ohio State lean because of the relationship between the school and Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer. “It was the familiarity, the comfortability of being there so many times,” Erasmus Hall coach Danny Landberg said. “He built a relationship with Urban Meyer since eighth grade when we went up there for Friday Night Lights, when he was going to be an incoming freshman.
