Chris Holtmann Loves That Ohio State Is Considered A Football School

Chris Holtmann’s career as a college basketball head coach began in 2010 at Gardner-Webb. After three seasons in Boiling Springs, N.C., he spent one year as an assistant at Butler before becoming the man in charge of the Bulldogs for three years beginning with the 2014-15 campaign.  While Gardner-Webb and Butler are two different programs in two separate conferences (Big South and Big East, respectively), both are generally recognized as basketball schools more so than football schools. So when Ohio State hired Holtmann on June 9, he became the head coach of basketball team at an institution that is undoubtedly acknowledged as a football school.
