We might as well beat the rush on this one. After passing the Fourth of July holiday — and not quite reaching training camps in college football — we have officially entered the “talking season.’’ Talk, talk, talk. Conference media days. Lists. Comparisons. Conjecture. Predictions. Point-Counterpoint. The Ohio State Buckeyes will be a huge part of the conversation. They are a consensus pick to win the Big Ten Conference reach the College Football Playoff (for the third time in four seasons). Buckle up, Buckeyes, you’re going to hear this (a lot) in the coming weeks: J.T. Barrett is yesterday’s news. He has a solid career resume as Ohio State’s quarterback, but he has become a liability. Don’t be surprised if there’s competition for the job. Doesn’t all of this seem kind of … silly? Last season, Barrett led his team to an 11-2 mark and the Fiesta Bowl national semifinals.…
