COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football began practice for the 2017 season on Thursday at 6:30 a.m. Media members were allowed to see stretching and the first three periods of practice. Here are five notes from the Buckeyes’ first time on the field. Right guard rotation Right guard is one of the biggest battles left on the depth chart, and it appears there are two main contenders for the spot. Both Matthew Burrell and Malcolm Pridgeon rotated at the spot with the first team offensive line. They also were the two players who worked with the second-team unit. Pridgeon was recruited as an offensive tackle but missed all of 2016 with a right knee injury he sustained during fall practice.
