We’re counting down the top 50 Buckeyes for this season, taking into account talent, past accomplishments, team need and potential. No. 14: Jalyn Holmes, Senior, Defensive End Height, weight: 6-foot-5, 270 pounds. Hometown: Norfolk, Va. Where he was ranked last year: We had Holmes ranked No. 24 heading into last season, which was probably a smidge too low for a guy who was basically a starter in the defensive end rotation. Holmes was a borderline top-20 player for the Buckeyes last year. What he’s done: Holmes has been on the field since arriving at Ohio State in 2014. He played in 11 games as a true freshman, and 13 in each of the past two seasons.
