COLUMBUS, Ohio — An injury could once again shape Ohio State’s quarterback future. Joe Burrow, the No. 2 quarterback last year who was in a battle for that spot this year with Dwayne Haskins, broke a bone in his throwing hand during Monday’s practice. He’s out indefinitely, and any suspense over who wins that backup job is now a moot point. Like Braxton Miller’s injured shoulder setting the stage for J.T. Barrett, and Barrett’s broken ankle setting the stage for Cardale Jones, this is the break (no pun intended) that sets Haskins on a path to being Ohio State’s immediate emergency option should something happen to Barrett, and now gives him a better chance to be the program’s quarterback of the future.
