Oklahoma shocked Ohio State with a revenge beatdown in Columbus

No. 5 Oklahoma dismantled No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday in Columbus, 31-16. The Sooners exacted revenge for a home loss to the Buckeyes last year. More importantly, they entrenched themselves squarely into “College Football Playoff favorite” status. The Sooners were amazing down the stretch. They outplayed Ohio State in the first half, when they averaged 5.7 yards per play to the Buckeyes’ 3.4. But they asserted themselves in the third quarter and made the game theirs in the fourth, even as the Buckeyes’ offense picked up its own pace. After Ohio State led 10-3, the Sooners were unstoppable. Baker Mayfield threw three second-half touchdown passes.
