Ohio State Football: Buckeyes' execution flawless during rout

Bill Rabinowitz The Columbus Dispatch @brdispatch LINCOLN, Neb. — Late in the 56-14 evisceration of Nebraska on Saturday night, quarterback J.T. Barrett came across punter Drue Chrisman near the Ohio State bench. “He was like, ‘It’s cold on the sideline, huh?’” Barrett said. Then Barrett realized why Chrisman was chillier than his teammates. The freshman had been given few opportunities to work up a sweat. “He said, ‘I didn’t punt tonight,’” Barrett said. “I almost wanted to say, ‘I apologize,’ but I didn’t.” Chrisman did get in the game eight times as the holder for extra-point kicks, so at least he got to feel part of the domination that was practically clinical in its execution. On offense, Buckeyes starters scored touchdowns on all eight of their possessions. All of the drives lasted at least eight plays and covered a minimum of 59 yards. Ohio State had 41 first downs.
