Barrett was named Big Ten offensive player of the week for a prolific performance in a 56-14 win at Nebraska on Saturday night. Barrett tied his school record of touchdowns responsible for in one game with seven — five passing, two rushing — while hitting 27 of 33 passes for 325 yards on a windy night. He leads the nation in points responsible for with 158. In five games since a loss to Oklahoma, Barrett and the Ohio State offense have feasted on overmatched defenses, Barrett rising to No. 4 in the nation in passing efficiency rating (173.8) while Ohio State sits No. 2 in total offense (577.3-yard average) behind Oklahoma State (610.7). “I’m just trying to keep on getting better each day,” Barrett said. “I think I’m playing well right now.
