Payton Wilson, Ohio State linebacker target, decommits from North Carolina: Buckeyes football recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State, at best, has room for seven more players in its 2018 recruiting class. With three linebackers already committed, it would take a special player for them to add someone else at that position. Payton Wilson is a special player. And he’s now available. Wilson, a four-star prospect from North Carolina, announced his decommitment from UNC on Wednesday. He’s the No. 68 overall player in the country in the 247Sports composite ratings, and the No. 3 outside linebacker in the class. He had Ohio State among his top four schools when he committed to the Tar Heels back in May.
