Tyreke Johnson, four-star safety from Florida, commits to Ohio State: Buckeyes football recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s deep 2018 recruiting class at safety just got even deeper on Tuesday when four-star safety Tyreke Johnson from Jacksonville announced his commitment to the Buckeyes. He is the 19th commit for Ohio State’s class and the first since Antwuan Jackson committed on Sept. 12. According to 247Sports.com’s Composite Rankings, Johnson is the No. 39 prospect and the No. 5 safety in the country. Johnson visited Ohio State on Oct. 28 when the Buckeyes faced Penn State. He was also a high school teammate of Shaun Wade, who signed with the Buckeyes in February. Jaiden Woodbey and Josh Proctor are the other two safeties in the class along with Johnson.
