COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State picked up a commitment from four-star safety Tyreke Johnson on Tuesday. Here’s what it means for the Buckeyes, and their 2018 recruiting class. * Johnson is the No. 38 overall player in the country, and the No. 5 safety in the country. His commitment gives Ohio State, which already had the top-ranked recruiting class in 2018, eight top-50 national prospects. The Buckeyes’ 2017 class, possibly the best the program has ever signed, had seven top-50 national prospects. SEE OHIO STATE’S ENTIRE 2018 RECRUITING CLASS * Though he’s listed as a safety, the Buckeyes could look at the 6-foot-1, 191-pound Johnson as a cornerback when he gets to college.
