Taver Johnson joining Ohio State football staff as CB coach, per report

Taver Johnson is coming back to Columbus to coach cornerbacks for Ohio State, according to a report from FootballScoop. Johnson was linked to the opening on Urban Meyer’s staff, and on Monday, he was listed on the university directory as an assistant football coach. Johnson worked at Ohio State from 2007-11 under Jim Tressel and coached the cornerbacks. Johnson, a Cincinnati native, spent the 2017 season as Temple’s defensive coordinator. He also worked at Purdue and Arkansas after leaving the Buckeyes. Johnson was the Razorbacks’ interim coach after Bobby Petrino resigned in 2012. Urban Meyer had the opening on his staff after Kerry Coombs left Ohio State after six seasons to take a job in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans.
