The 11 Best 11s Of College Football: Penn St Tightens Its Grip On #1

Upon reflection of the first two months of this season, it is apparent that Penn State is not only the best and strongest team but, also the most complete squad in the country.
Unlike inconsistent Alabama or one-man team Texas, the Nittany Lions are more well rounded, more balanced, and more dependable. Joe Paterno’s 2008 edition of Penn State appears to be head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in America.
While there is still the matter of the upcoming rugged match with Iowa, there is no doubt that Penn State is currently the #1 team in the country and stands to have the best chance of winning the BCS championship this season.
What makes this a hands-down decision concerning the Nittany Lions? Well, I’ve been ranking them #1 in the country for some time now so it is not a new idea from my standpoint.
However, it is plain to see that very few (One? Two?) teams could have gone into the Lion’s Den (no pun intended) of Columbus last Saturday night and survived the Ohio State onslaught.
One has the feeling watching this great Penn State team that we are witnessing royalty in the making.
