Ohio State Coaches To Be Honored

April 30, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State baseball coach Marty Karow will have his No. 13 jersey retired and current coach Bob Todd will be honored when the Buckeyes play Illinois in their final home Big Ten series of the season May 9-11.

Karow was Ohio State’s coach from 1951 until 1976. He led the Buckeyes to four College World Series, winning the national title in 1966.

He will become only the third person to have his Ohio State baseball number retired, joining Fred Taylor and Steve Arlin. He will be remembered between games of the May 10 double-header.

Todd is Ohio State’s winningest coach. He will be recognized before the game May 9 for being inducted into the American Baseball Coaches hall of fame.
