Ohio State Football Recruiting: Urban Meyer Targets Next ‘Percy Harvin’

Louisville (KY) wide receiver James Quick of Trinity High School is a highly-touted prospect with the ability to find the end zone on any given play.

At 6’1″, 175 pounds, he has similar frame to former Florida Gator split end Percy Harvin, with a little added height. Quick also runs a 4.41 40-yard dash (oh, the irony), the exact time of the now-Minnesota Viking.

Quick is an extraordinary athlete: he led his basketball team to a state title and won the 200-meter dash in track (20.94 seconds) for the third year in a row. The 5-star WR finished with 69 receptions, 1,206 yards and 16 touchdowns, while taking seven kick returns for 267 yards (38.1 yards per return) last season.

“They tell me they want me to be like Percy Harvin,” said Quick, according to Silver Bullet Recruiting.

This is exactly the type of player Meyer needs for his system and Quick could contend to fill the “H” position left by Corey (Philly) Brown right away, which was also held by Harvin in 2008.
