The 2012 Ohio State team will have a unique place in the program’s history.
The Buckeyes, in Urban Meyer’s first year with them, knew they weren’t going to a bowl game and couldn’t play for a national title because of NCAA sanctions. What they could do was win all their games. That goal was met with a 26-21 victory over Michigan. It is the sixth undefeated season for Ohio State, and only the second since 1968.
“It will go down as one of the great teams in Ohio State history,” Meyer told ABC on the field after the game.
